We have some exciting updates for you in this AVX newsletter: we are announcing our latest match along with three more institutions joining the AVX network. Conversation Statistics: We are up to 2590 total connections and conversations on the AVX network - 275 more over the last month (11% month-over-month growth). We are also happy to present our latest match: Gene Hoffman and John Partridge (+1 other still in discussions) has joined TigerStone out of Princeton University as members of their Business Advisory Board. Congratulations, Gene and John! We are still tracking 8 potential match negotiations and another 29 with multi-month long discussions heading toward possible matches.

New Institutions: AVX is also proud to announce the addition of three more participating institutions in the network over the past month: 1) Carnegie Mellon University, 2) the University of Arizona, and 3) the University of Maryland. Yale Innovation Summit: The Yale Innovation Summit is an event highlighting entrepreneurial Yale faculty and students and the investable innovations coming out of Yale labs. The event includes a Biotech Track, aimed at those interested in commercializing ideas for drug discovery and biological therapeutics, and a Tech Track, for those interested in commercializing ideas from physical and computer sciences, engineering, software, and services. Weill Cornell $100k Biomedical Business Plan Challenge: The Final Pitch Night is the culmination of Cornell's 10-week Biomedical Business Plan Challenge. After an application process this winter, seven Weill Cornell Medicine faculty teams were selected to work with 18 mentors throughout the Spring to refine business plans and pitches for their new biomedical ventures. University of Chicago's George Shultz Innovation Fund Finals: The George Shultz Innovation Fund is excited to announce the Spring 2019 investment cycle. Applicants from across the University of Chicago, Argonne National Lab, Fermilab, and the Marine Biological Laboratory will compete for up to $250,000 in proof-of-concept capital.
