We have some exciting updates for you in this AVX newsletter: we are announcing our latest match along with four more institutions joining the AVX network. Conversation Statistics & Newest Match: We are up to 2320 total connections and conversations on the AVX network - 248 more over the last month (9.7% month-over-month growth). We are also happy to present our latest match: Patrick Wood Uribe has joined CogWear out of the University of Pennsylvania as CEO. Congratulations, Patrick! We are still tracking 10 potential match negotiations and another 25 with multi-month long discussions heading toward possible matches.

New Institutions: AVX is also proud to announce the addition of four more participating institutions in the network over the past month: 1) the University of Pittsburgh, 2) the University of California, Santa Barbara, 3) the California Institute of Technology, and 4) The Ohio State University. Yale Innovation Summit: The Yale Innovation Summit (in New Haven on May 8) is an event highlighting entrepreneurial Yale faculty and students and the investable innovations coming out of Yale labs. The event includes a Biotech Track, aimed at those interested in commercializing ideas for drug discovery and biological therapeutics, and a Tech Track, for those interested in commercializing ideas from physical and computer sciences, engineering, software, and services. Columbia BioMedX Pitch Day: In New York City on May 1, teams of Columbia University scientists, engineers, clinicians, and students, will pitch their envisioned technologies and business opportunities to a panel of judges and invited guests for potential commercialization support. This is the culminating event of a semester long technology commercialization "bootcamp" during which teams have been working to develop their cutting-edge biomedical technologies and research from the lab and into the market. Tulane Immersion Days: Building on the success of Tulane's successful 2018 launch, Immersion Days 2019 (in New Orleans on April 9 & 10) brings together the Tulane Schools of Medicine, Science & Engineering and their National Primate Research Center as they welcome Companies, Foundations, Collaborators and Investors/VC's to Tulane's campus so they can experience their most innovative science, services and opportunities through a series of short, dynamic presentations.
