Academic Venture Exchange Pilot

The Academic Venture Exchange is an attempt by several leading research universities to improve our ability to match our new ventures with fundable entrepreneurs. Our hypothesis is that we can all do this better by pooling deals and pooling entrepreneurial relationships.  We also want to create an intuitive and attractive platform for facilitating matching.

This is our first attempt and it is low tech.  If this generates some early success, we plan to rapidly implement more sophisticated IT guided by your feedback.

Attached is a sample of new ventures currently seeking leadership, contributed by our institutions.  Our requests of you to the extent you are able:

-         Please browse the list over the next two weeks

-         Feel free to get in touch directly with any institution where you are interested in the venture, could make connections, or offer feedback.

-         Please share with me any feedback on the concept, listing formats (e.g. on the six video pitch pilots, helpful vs. unhelpful detail), and platform possibilities.)  I will circulate a survey also shortly.

The technology transfer offices have also received a listing including your name and background and may be reaching out to you independently with respect to individual opportunities.  This should always come initially through your referring institution or me, to avoid spamming.

We are most appreciative of your willingness to participate.

Sincerely

Al
